Air Jamaica is seeking a new CEO after Howard Hall’s resignation from the position just seven months after assuming the role. The resignation comes just weeks after Air Jamaica’s parent company Caribbean Airlines unveiled a rebranding effort for the Kingston-based airline. Caribbean last year appointed a CEO after an acrimonious, and public, split with Ian Brunton (Aviation Daily, Dec. 6, 2010). No reason is being given for Hall’s departure, although a Caribbean Airlines official says the company received the resignation “some time ago.” The position, for now, will be filled by William Rodgers, a veteran Air Jamaica executive. This will be Rodgers' second term as interim CEO; he came out of retirement in 2007 to replace Michael Conway as the carrier’s top executive. Bruce Nobles eventually assumed those responsibilities until he, too, left the company mid-2010 (Aviation Daily, July 7, 2010).
