Hawaiian Airlines says it will begin daily service July 12 between Honolulu and Osaka, Japan, pending Japanese government approval. Hawaiian says the response to its new service to Tokyo Haneda has been stronger than expected, accelerating its plans to begin Osaka service.
The airline began service to Tokyo and Seoul, South Korea, in recent months, and CEO Mark Dunkerley recently said the Tokyo route “lays the foundation for further expansion in Japan. (Aviation Daily, Feb. 3).
The airline adds that Osaka's location in the Kansai region will significantly strengthen its ability to attract customers from Asia, with convenient flight connections from other cities in Japan, China and other countries in Asia.
