Air New Zealand plans to start flying its first new Boeing 777-300 this month, and in preparation for that, signed a component support agreement with Lufthansa Technik. The Total Component Support contract takes effect immediately and includes rotables pooling for the 777-300 and existing -200s in Air New Zealand’s fleet.
This is the first support agreement between Lufthansa Technik and Air New Zealand. The airline, which currently has a fleet of 98 aircraft, not only is adding five 777-300s to its fleet but also committed to buying 14 additional Airbus A320s, according to Trevor Hughes, general manager commercial, Air New Zealand Technical Operations.
